Our Beliefs

Our Beliefs

These are the truths we live and experience.

We believe:

  • There is one God who eternally exists as three, distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4)
  • He is in perfect community within himself. (2 Corinthians 13:14)

The Scriptures

  • The Scriptures are both divinely inspired and without error. (2 Timothy 3:16)
  • Jesus is the centerpiece of the entire Bible. (Luke 24:27, John 5:39)

  • God created everything. (Genesis 1:1-31)
  • All things exist for the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31, Romans 11:36)
  • God is restoring all things, both physical and spiritual, through The Gospel. (Colossians 1:20)

  • God created humankind in his own image. (Genesis 1:26)
  • Human personality, gender, and race are gifts from God. (Genesis 1:27, Psalm 139: 13-16)

  • Sin is rebellion against God's perfectly created order. (Genesis 3:1-7)
  • Since sin entered the world, our natural trajectory is away from God. (Genesis 3:8)
  • The deserved penalty for sin is spiritual and physical death. (Romans 6:23)

  • Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God and is both fully God and fully human. (John 1:1, Jude 1:5, John 11:35)
  • Jesus Christ lived a perfect, sinless life. (2 Corinthians 5:21)
  • Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the eternal penalty for sin. (John 3:16-17)
  • Jesus Christ rose physically from the dead and now reigns eternally over death. (Matthew 28:18-20, John 20:27)

  • Grace is the undeserved gift of eternal life from God, given to sinful people. Grace is ours because Jesus paid the debt our sins demanded, by dying on the cross in our place. (Romans 11:6, 1 Peter 2:24)
  • Grace comes through faith, which God brings about in the hearts of his people. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

The Church

  • God's primary method for accomplishing his mission in the world is the Local Church. (Ephesians 3:10)
  • The Church is full of broken, common people that stumble together toward Christlikeness. (Acts 4:13, Ephesians 2:19-22)
